Thanksgiving Turkey Pre-Orders Now Open

Organic and natural turkeys and specialty meats are now available for pre-order. We will have open stock but we cannot guarantee a specific size or type of turkey without a pre-order.

Thanksgiving Turkey FAQs

 

How big of a turkey do I need? 


We suggest about 1 1/2 pounds for each diner to allow for leftovers.


Are your turkeys frozen? 


No, both Shelton’s and Diestel Farms turkeys are “deep- chilled”, meaning they’re held at 26 - 28 degrees. This will cause a crust to form on the surface of the bird, but they will not be frozen. When we receive all turkeys (pre-cooked included) we will hold them in a refrigerated unit at 40 degrees, which will be the temperature of your turkey at pick up time.
 

When can I pick up my turkey?  


Our pickup days are Friday, November 22 (Saturday, November 23 for Culver City) through Thursday, November 28.

Store hours are 7am - 10pm. We will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 7am - 2pm.

 

How should I handle my turkey once it is picked up?

 

Keep chilled in your refrigerator until it's ready to prepare.

 

It’s recommended to remove the turkey from the refrigerator and allow it to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to remove the chill from the bird prior to cooking.
